BINGHAMTON, NY (607NewsNow) – Senator Lea Webb is launching her Thanksgiving Day Celebration program.

On Nov. 2, Webb asked kindergarten through grade 12 students in State Senate District 52 to express what they’re thankful for in original essays, artwork, or poetry.

“I encourage students to think deeply about what Thanksgiving means to them and explore these themes through their creative work,” said the recently reelected Webb. “Gratitude fosters community, empathy, and appreciation. It is always important to reflect on what we are thankful for and recognize those individuals in our lives for whom we are grateful. By inviting our youngest residents to share what Thanksgiving means to them, we are uplifting what matters to the future of our community. I look forward to this program every year and am always inspired by seeing what our students are thankful for.”

In addition to receiving a certificate of recognition signed by Webb, all participants will have their work published on the senator’s official website.

Submissions, which must be submitted electronically in JPEG or PDF format here, are due by November 20.
