ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Southern Tier AIDS Program is celebrating a win.

During the Finger Lakes Ride for Life on Saturday, Sept. 19, $129,500 was raised. 220 cyclists biked routes ranging from 14 to 106 miles around Cayuga Lake, starting at 7 a.m. at Stewart Park.

“There was so much joy and excitement from the very beginning of the day, and that feeling carried all the way around Cayuga Lake,” Kayla Thomas, special events coordinator at STAP said. “The weather couldn’t have been better, our riders and volunteers were incredible, and seeing everyone come back into Stewart Park safely was such a special moment.”

Once known as the AIDS Ride for Life, the group announced this summer its mission was expanding.
