ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A seasonal product sold on Amazon is unsafe.

According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPS), JKMAX heated blankets and heating pads can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.

There have been 577 reports of overheating, including 53 that resulted in burn injuries.

Nearly 200,000 units sold between September 2022, and July of this year have been recalled. They were distributed in one-pack and two-packs, and came in blue, gray, brown or red. They were sold in multiple sizes, with a detachable remote.
