ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Ithaca Police Department is charging an Ithaca man with assault.

Police say 59-year-old Duane Magee was hitting a woman yesterday in the 100 block of Cherry St. Magee is also accused of pulling a knife on anyone who tried intervening. When officers eventually found him, they say Magee had a switchblade-style knife on him.

Magee was charged with two counts of felony possession of a weapon and one count each of misdemeanor menacing and attempted assault.
