CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) – A Cortland man is accused of stealing from an apartment complex maintenance room.

Officers from the City of Cortland Police Department arrested 43-year-old Terry Howard on Thursday morning after determining he was the primary suspect in a complaint that happened nearly a month ago.

On February 21 investigators say Howard broke into a locked office and maintenance room and stole several items.  Cortland PD says it appears Howard lived in the complex. He allegedly fled when the landlord confronted him about missing property.

Howard faces felony burglary, misdemeanor petit larceny, and a harassment violation in Cortland City Court at a later date.
