OWEGO, N.Y. (WHCU) – Tioga County Public Health says opioid overdoses have spiked over the last four days.

All the reported OD victims were administered Narcan and survived. Health officials say they can’t determine for sure the overdoses are related, but heroin was the suspected drug in each case, and it may be laced with fentanyl. Call 911 immediately if you suspect someone is overdosing.

Narcan is available for free in public access boxes throughout the county, CASA Trinity, and the Public Health and Mental Hygiene offices.
