ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Will they, or won’t they?

Despite strong opinions from within the city’s government, the Ithaca Common Council is holding a special meeting tonight to vote on accepting Cornell’s $4 million memorandum of understanding.

Sitting members of the Common Council have expressed their own concerns and reservations about the agreement, which has terms of 21 years.

Budget presentations are also being featured, with the focus tonight on public safety. A second budget hearing takes place tomorrow, and the third is scheduled for November 1.

Tonight’s meeting begins at six o’clock.
