ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A Cornell student, accused of making online threats to Jewish students last fall, returns to federal court in Syracuse today.

The US Justice Department reports Patrick Dai is scheduled for a Waiver of Indictment/Change of Plea hearing at two o’clock. Federal authorities say the
21-year-old specifically targeted Jewish students at Cornell in posts made on the Internet.

Potential victims of Dai can attend today’s hearing and may be offered federal victims’ rights. Dai faces five years in prison if convicted.
