OWEGO, N.Y. (WHCU) – The Owego Police Department says new signs will help enforce speed limits and protect pedestrians.

The signs have been installed on Erie Street near the Boys and Girls Club to remind drivers to adhere to the speed limit. The signs are in addition to the traditional ‘Children At Play’ sign in the area.

The signs were made possible by a grant from the Floyd Hooker Foundation, a former village resident and lottery winner who passed away in 2007.
