CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — Cortland Police officers are now equipped with body cameras.
City officials say $40,000 in grant funding helped to pay for the body cams, which began being used by all Cortland officers on Monday. The cams must be activated before arriving to a scene or call. It’ll eventually be included in the city’s yearly budget.
In the last few years, the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office began using body and dashboard cams.
