ALBANY, N.Y. (WHCU) — The state Senate has passed a ban on carbon dioxide fracking.
Senator Lea Webb sponsored the resolution, which was approved last week by the state Assembly. Webb says fracking is harmful to the environment, adding her bill would add to New York’s existing ban on fracking.
The bill now heads to Governor Hochul’s desk.
Thrilled that my bill S8357 that bans CO2 fracking passed in the @NYSenate today! Thank you to everyone that has supported this vital legislation. Together, we will prevent the oil & gas industry from circumventing our State environmental laws.
