ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Power is slowly being restored this morning after strong wind gusts knocked down power lines across the Southern Tier.
As of 5:00 Wednesday morning, NYSEG is reporting over 5,200 outages in Tompkins County and several more hundred in Cortland and Tioga counties. National Grid is working to restore power to an estimated 646 people in Cortland County.

The high wind warning has ended, but a wind advisory is being issued by the National Weather Service from nine o’clock this morning to seven o’clock tonight.
