HORSEHEADS, NY (607NewsNow) – A Chemung County man has been charged with the murder of a child.

On September 15, 27-year-old Christopher Woods, of Horseheads, was arrested following the death of 3-year-old Finn Hopkins at Arnot Ogden Medical Center.

Troopers say the boy was brought to the hospital by his mother after he was found unresponsive. Medical staff alerted Chemung County Child Protective Services due to “suspicious injuries” on Hopkins and a sibling, and CPS called authorities after the boy died.

Woods is in Chemung County Jail without bail. He is charged with second-degree murder.
