Contract talks kept a member of the Buffalo Bills from attending a mandatory practice on Sunday. Running back James Cook tells Sports Illustrated he didn’t participate in yesterday’s practice because he’s seeking a contract extension. The Bills have no comment.

Membership is now open for the Friends of Cornell Football. Alumni, families, and supporters can join the group with a minimum donation of 100 dollars. The Big Red’s football season begins on the road Sept. 20 at the University of Albany. The first home game is scheduled for Oct. 4, when Cornell hosts Colgate.
