ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Wegmans stores in the region may be low on some items.
On July 26, 25-year-old J’Mere Ridley-Smith, an employee at the company’s Rochester-area distribution center, was gunned down while on the job.
As a result, the grocery chain says produce options will be temporarily limited in Central New York, including in Ithaca, which was confirmed to 607NewsNow by an employee at the Ithaca store. The grocery chain has not said how long operations will be disrupted.
The suspect in the murder, 32-year-old Kyshonn Green, also a distribution center employee, fled the scene and was caught by U.S. Marshals on Sunday night in Tennessee.
