SLATERVILLE, NY (607NewsNow) – Several people are injured after an accident in Slaterville.

Slaterville firefighters were called to Route 79 around 7 a.m. Thursday for a multiple vehicle crash with entrapped victims and what 911 dispatchers described as serious injuries.

First responders called Dryden’s heavy rescue truck was called in to extricate the people involved, and authorities’ credit recently acquired battery operated rescue tools, which they say are faster, lighter, more maneuverable and easier to operate in confined spaces.

The victims of the crash were transported to the hospital by Bangs Ambulance.

Mutual aid was provided by fire departments from Dryden, Varna, Brooktondale.
