GreenStar workers signed first collective bargaining agreement

GreenStar workers have signed a collective bargaining agreement today that will make them members of Workers United Upstate NY and VT.

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Update: Workers at GreenStar have signed their first collective bargaining agreement.

Last summer, employees at the Cascadilla Street store voted to form a union. It passed in a vote of 86 to 14 in 2 separate elections. Once the agreement was signed today, store workers became members of Workers United Upstate NY and VT, which represents people working at the Ithaca Sciencenter and Gimme! Coffee. In October, workers at GreenStar locations in Collegetown and the Dewitt Mall also voted to unionize.

Today’s signing at the Cascadilla Street location was part of a press conference, which began at 11 a.m.
