CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – There’s still time to help a local group reach a fundraising goal in Cortland County.
Seven Valleys Health Coalition, in partnership with Fouts Farm, is teaming up for a Kiss the Calf event. The group is trying to raise $5,000 by February 14 to help fight food insecurity in the region.
Local leaders have pledged to kiss a baby cow if the goal is met. They include Assemblymember Anna Kelles, Cortland County Sheriff Mark Helms, Cortland Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Bob Haight, Homer Elementary Principal Doug Pasquerella, Dryden School District Safety Office Rob Reyngoudt, and Seven Valleys Health Coalition Executive Director Jackie Leaf.
The group has already raised $3,000 toward its goal. The event will be streamed live on Friday at 11 a.m.
