ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Since launching in April, Tompkins County’s rapid response EMS program has kept busy. The 2-year pilot program, which increases emergency response services to rural area that previously had to wait a long time, is funded through the end of 2025.
Monday on Ithaca’s Morning News, EMS Program Manager Joe Milliman said the program has been successful.
Milliman adds he’s head positive feedback from rural residents.
Nationally, Milliman says EMS staffing levels remain a big issue and concern.
Milliman says he’s expecting discussions in the Tompkins County Legislature about further funding for the rapid response EMS program to begin in mid-2025.
