ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — An Auburn woman will spend at least 25 years in prison for a deadly shooting outside a bar. 

Earlier this year, Shameek Copes was found guilty of second-degree murder. Prosecutors say the 28-year-old shot and killed John Wesley Smith outside a bar on Perrine Street last March.

Copes was sentenced to 25 years to life. Her lawyer says they will appeal the sentence.
