LANSING, NY (607NewsNow) — Burglary charges filed in Lansing. 

Troopers say David Thomas broke into an apartment just after midnight Tuesday on Graham Rd. The 48-year-old Ithaca man was confronted by the two residents, who armed themselves with a cane and pocketknife. Thomas reportedly left after getting struck with the cane. A trooper soon spotted a man who matched Thomas’ description walking on Graham Rd.

“As the Trooper attempted to take him into custody the suspect resisted arrest by punching the Trooper in the face and refusing to comply with commands to place his hands behind his back. With the assistance of a Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputy, the suspect was taken into custody,” troopers stated.

Thomas was charged with felony burglary and three misdemeanors: criminal mischief in the 4th degree, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration in the 2nd degree.
