MARATHON, NY (607NewsNow) — A damaged MAVAC ambulance is back in service.
In a statement to 607 News Now, Chief John Tillotson says the emergency vehicle didn’t sustain major structural damage after getting sideswiped Oct. 10 while heading to a call on McGraw-Marathon Rd. in Freetown.
“Thus, we have been able to make some quick repairs to get the driver side mirror replaced so that the Ambulance can be put back in service despite the cosmetic damage to the outside,” Tillotson said.
The ambulance was back in service Thursday, and Tillotson adds a third ambulance for the Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps is being prepared for delivery from Syracuse.
“We hope to have that new Ambulance added to our fleet of vehicles in the next 2 to 3 weeks if all goes well,” Tillotson added.
