ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) -There’s a new leader atop Cornell’s College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM).
Dr. Jessica McArt has been named dean of the CVM.
The dairy vet and epidemiologist is a Big Red alumna and current professor of ambulatory and production medicine.

According to the Cornell Chronicle, her appointment was approved by the Cornell Board of Trustees Executive Committee on May 20 and ratified by the State University of New York’s Board of Trustees on June 2.
She takes over for Dr. Lorin Warnick, who has served as dean since 2016, and will return to teaching and research at Cornell. Warnick announced that he would step down back in November.
McArt’s appointment begins July 15.
