BINGHAMTON, NY (607NewsNow) — The mayor of Binghamton is backing the blue.

On Oct. 23, Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham welcomed 13 new members of the city’s police force. The officers graduated from the Broome County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Academy.

“Continuing to invest in Binghamton’s public safety means supporting the dedicated individuals who work every day to protect our residents and strengthen our neighborhoods,” Kraham said on Facebook. “We wish our newest officers a safe and successful start to their careers.”

In November 2025, Kraham won the Binghamton mayoral race by nearly 700 votes.
