MARATHON, NY (CortacaToday) — A 71-year-old man has died in a fire in Marathon. 

State Police say James Stevens was killed after a fire erupted early Monday morning. “When Troopers arrived, the home was fully engulfed, and members of the Marathon Fire Department and several surrounding fire departments were on scene,” according to a news release from the New York State Police.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
