LANSING, NY (CortacaToday) – A Syracuse man faces charges in Lansing after leading State Police on a chase.

On Saturday, August 31, 2024, troopers attempted to pull a vehicle over for speeding on Peruville Road around 6:15 p.m. The driver, later identified as 23-year-old Jusa Haygood, allegedly increased his speed and made multiple vehicle and traffic violations before ultimately stopping on Robins Way near the town ballfields.

During Haygood’s arrest, troopers found two children in the backseat ages 2 and 7. The children were turned over to a family member and Haygood was taken to the State Police barracks in Ithaca for processing. Haygood is charged with misdemeanors of unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and endangering the welfare of a child.

He is scheduled to appear in Lansing Town Court on October 15.
