AUBURN, NY (CortacaToday) — An Auburn man faces up to five years in prison in a case of worker’s comp fraud.
Christopher Gleason worked for the US Postal Service when he sprained his ankle on the job in January 2022. The 36-year-old had to electronically fill out a compensation form every two weeks to continue receiving benefits.
Prosecutors say Gleason collected nearly 15 thousand dollars in false benefits while doing construction work, though he did not report that additional income as required. He’ll be sentenced in December and must also pay that money back.
