CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) — A one percent hotel and motel tax in Cortland is possible. 

Mayor Scott Steve tells us it would help the city recover from the Main Street reconstruction project. 

The resolution calls for a hotel and motel tax of up to three percent, which the mayor says gives the city a little wiggle room. 

Once approved by New York State, the tax proposal would go to the Cortland Common Council.
