CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) — There’s a chance tomorrow to comment on a proposed hotel and motel tax in Cortland.

City officials say the proposal of adding up to a “three percent (3%) of the per-diem rental rate for each room to provide additional revenues for the promotion of tourism, cultural programs, parks and recreation, and the critical infrastructure and capital improvements necessary to support those items,” according to the Common Council agenda for the Tuesday, August 6th meeting.

Tioga County adopted a similar tax last year. Cortland’s Common Council meets tomorrow night at six.
