GENEVA, NY (CortacaToday) — A Cornell facility is benefiting from a financial contribution.

Seneca Foods is giving $10 million to the university’s Food Venture Center. Facility Director Dr. Olga Padilla-Zakour said the money will help entrepreneurs.

“They need assistance in making sure the products are safe, that they are stable, that they meet the requirements of the marketplace,” she said.

Padilla-Zakour said activity in the venture center has ballooned.

“It has grown into a very large operation,” she added. “We work with 700 or 800 entrepreneurs every year.”

Padilla-Zakour recently shared more details about the multi-million-dollar contribution on Ithaca’s Morning News. Hear the conversation below.
