ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — Tompkins County legislators want more time to discuss a countywide living wage. 

Communications Director Dominick Recckio tells us a scheduled vote on Tuesday was delayed. 

Recckio says legislators could take another step in the process next month.

The group would help to create a law and a methodology for calculating the minimum wage locally. 

Earlier this year, discussions began in the Tompkins County Legislature about creating a minimum wage for all people working in the county, which would differ from New York State’s minimum wage.
