ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – Cornell gets into the spirit of March Madness.

Class of 2007 alum Corey Earle is a visiting lecturer of a popular course about the history of Cornell. He wanted to do an NCAA tournament style competition to decide the best fictional Cornell alum in pop culture. The winners are decided by a popular vote on Twitter. He spoke to WHCU about how he came up with the idea.

There are four regions seeded #1 through #16 in categories of television comedy, television drama, film comedy/romance, and film drama. From Charles Foster Kane (Citizen Kane) to Sideshow Mel (The Simpsons), the field of competitors casts a wide net.
