ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — The Ithaca Tompkins International Airport is looking to work around the clock.
Director Roxan Noble told legislators in June that adding more staff will help the airport achieve its goal of becoming a 24-hour operation. The Budget, Capital, and Personnel Committee will vote this week on creating two new full-time positions at the airport.
Noble says they could save about 50 thousand dollars by taking jobs that are contracted out, like overnight security, landscaping, and cleaning, and handling them in-house. The committee meets at 9 a.m. Thursday.
If approved, the resolution goes to the full Legislature later this month.
