ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — Housing is a big topic of conversation in Ithaca.

Mayor Robert Cantelmo tells WHCU land use is something within the city’s control.

Staff have been instructed by the Common Council to draft a law legalizing accessible dwelling units in the city. Mayor Cantelmo says there are other possibilities.

Additional options are likely.

The mayor describes Ithaca as a ‘growing community.’ Meantime, the city’s ‘good cause‘ eviction bill goes to the Common Council for a vote on Wednesday, July 10.
