CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) — A child is safe after a scary moment at a Cortland pool.
According to the Cortland Youth Bureau, lifeguards called 911 shortly before 12:30 Thursday afternoon for a possible drowning. The child was successfully rescued and evaluated, and the Wickwire Pool was re-opened after a brief closure.
Mayor Scott Steve says the ‘quick thinking and bravery’ of the lifeguards saved the child’s life.
