ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — Cornell is agreeing to payments for the town of Ithaca.

Under the agreement, the university will voluntarily contribute 425 thousand dollars every year for 10 years. Joel Malina, vice president for university relations, calls the deal a ‘major accomplishment’ for Cornell and the town.

Roughly 300 thousand dollars goes toward general services while the rest is for infrastructure improvements from a list between the college and town officials. The agreement was finalized earlier this month.
