NEWFIELD, NY (WHCU) — Newfield is trying again.

The school board voted Thursday to hold a budget re-vote in June. On Tuesday, voters defeated the spending plan and vehicle purchase propositions. Superintendent Eric Hartz tells WHCU the school board is holding a special meeting next Thursday to vote on a new budget amount, which then goes to voters June 18.

Meantime, Ithaca’s Board of Education is still deciding between adopting a contingency budget or holding a re-vote.
