WASHINGTON, D.C. (WHCU) — There’s a new antisemitism bill in Washington.

The College Antisemitism Transparency Act was introduced by Congressman Marc Molinaro, who says it’s designed to crack down on antisemitic demonstrations at colleges like Cornell.
The bipartisan bill would have colleges receiving federal funding sign a yearly statement that acknowledges any kind of discrimination is illegal and could result in losing those federal dollars.
“American taxpayers should not be subsidizing hate. Colleges and universities that allow antisemitism and hostility towards Jewish students will be held accountable for their discriminatory actions,” Molinaro said.
Also, schools would be required to report any antisemitic act to the Department of Education.
