HOMER, NY (607NewsNow) – You can get rid of old and unwanted medicine this weekend in Cortland County.

On September 26, don’t miss your chance to properly clean out your cabinets, as officials will be collecting items Saturday morning for Cortland County’s Fall Drug Takeback Event.

You can discard expired and unwanted meds, including prescription and over the counter, but no sharps or liquids will be accepted.

  • Cortlandville Fire Department – 999 State Route 13 – 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Marathon Village Green/High School – 1 East Main Street – 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Homer Fire Department – 45 S Main Street – 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Partner agencies in the event include the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, the Homer Police Department, the Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (MAVAC), and fire departments in Cortlandville, Cincinnatus, Marathon, and Homer.
