CINCINNATUS, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cortland County man is recovering while awaiting his next day in court.

On September 14, Benjamin Marsh, of Cincinnatus, allegedly fled on his motorcycle around 6:30 p.m. when deputies tried pulling him over on Cincinnatus Road.

Deputies say the 45-year-old ultimately left the roadway and traveled into a cornfield. He was found and arrested a short time later with assistance from the Homer Police Department and Cincinnatus Fire Department. Marsh was taken to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, treated, and released.

Marsh is charged with felony illegal possession of a vehicle identification number and five misdemeanors, including resisting arrest, unlawful fleeing a police officer, and aggravated unlicensed operation.

Marsh is scheduled to appear in Cincinnatus Town Court on October 21.
