ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Part of a popular trail is shut down in Ithaca.

Beginning today, a section of the Fall Creek Gorge Trail is closed for work associated with the Stewart Avenue Bridge project.

The closure is between the Stewart Ave Bridge and 118 McGraw Place. The area will be fenced off, and hikers will need to take alternate routes.

Officials say the affected section is scheduled to reopen October 2.
