HOMER, NY (607NewsNow) – Six weeks of utility work begins today in Homer.

NYSEG and DDS crews are working along Route 281, which is down to a single lane between Route 41 and Route 90 for the duration of the project.

Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route to avoid delays.

Officials say the work is scheduled to wrap up at the end of October.
