HORSEHEADS, NY (607NewsNow) – State Police say a Montour man intentionally struck a road construction worker with his car.

On July 19, 20-year-old Ryan Sochia was arrested following an investigation into an incident that allegedly happened in Horseheads.

Sochia is accused of revving his engine on July 14 and hitting a female flagger on Ridge Road before fleeing the scene.  The flagger was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. She was released, but troopers say she sustained bruising.

Sochia is facing felony assault and four misdemeanors, including reckless endangerment and aggravated unlicensed operation. He was arraigned and released after posting $1,080 bail.
