ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Ithaca is working on a new plan for homelessness.
Acting City Manager Dominick Recckio tells 607 News Now the city has been looking closely at challenges created by the ‘jungle.’
Recckio says the idea was formed last year, after it became clear a shelter and navigation hub at the old Burger King on Rt. 13 would not happen.
The PODS (People Offered Dignified Spaces) would mostly be designed for single occupancy, Recckio added. A location has not been determined.
