CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — COVID-19 money is coming to Cortland.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand say over $131,000 is going to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center for pandemic relief. The money is part of over $11 million in FEMA grants for disaster recovery efforts.

“As New York continues to combat the impacts of severe weather and disaster events, I am proud to deliver this critical federal funding for communities across the state,” Gillibrand said. “These grants will be used to repair infrastructure across our cities, universities, and medical centers, and will support contributions by our heroic healthcare workers who helped address the COVID-19 pandemic. I will keep pushing for funding that helps ensure New Yorkers are protected from further catastrophes.”

The federal money will also be used for infrastructure and road repairs from Tropical Storm Debby and other severe weather events.
