ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Ithaca city officials are collecting opinions on redesigning the Route 13 corridor on the northside.
Director of Engineering Tim Logue tells WHCU the plan would make the section between Purity Ice Cream and Ithaca High School more pedestrian-friendly.
Logue adds that stretch is tough to navigate without driving.
Logue estimates the stretch sees 30,000 to 35,000 vehicles daily. Efforts to redesign part of Route 13 on the city’s northside likely would not begin for three to five years.
