CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) –SUNY Cortland is being sued by two students.
WBNG-TV reports the pair wanted to start a chapter of Turning Point USA, a conservative group, on campus. Gabriella Delorenzo and Megan Rothmund say the Student Government Association raised concerns about the national group, and anonymous commenters accused the group of expressing racist and antisemitic views.
The two students say the rejection violates their First Amendment rights. A SUNY Cortland spokesperson says the school is committed to inclusivity and a free exchange of ideas.
