CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — The speed limit on two Cortland roads is being lowered.
The Common Council voted Tuesday six to one in favor of reducing the speed limit from 30 to 25 miles an hour on Main Street between Groton and Clinton Avenues and between Port Watson and Tompkins Streets.
In addition, the law lowers the speed limit on Miller Street at the intersection of North Main and Morris Avenue.
Cortland’s new speed law takes effect later this year.
