ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Cornell’s Board of Trustees is showing support for President Martha Pollack.
In a vote over the weekend, the board unanimously agreed to continue backing Pollack despite calls for her to resign. Last week, Cornell alum Jon Lindseth penned an open letter asking for the resignation of Pollack and Provost Michael Kotlikoff over their support of diversity, equity, and inclusion policies. Lindseth has pulled his donations from the university.
Kraig Kayser, Chairman of the Board of Trustees said in a statement late last week that, “The board is working effectively with the administration to respond to various challenges facing higher education and opportunities to advance the university’s mission.” He also expressed his support of Pollack.
