HOMER, N.Y. (WHCU) – The alleged perpetrator of a hit-and-run accident in Cortland County has been caught.
Authorities say Brian Swan, of Genoa, admitted to hitting three vehicles last week in a business parking lot on Route 281 in the Village of Homer. Homer PD was able to determine it was Swan through additional security footage and a tip from a Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputy about a vehicle with front-end damage.
The Cayuga County man was pulled over near the same stretch of Route 281 on Tuesday afternoon after he was observed driving without a seatbelt.
Swan is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle for the collision. As a result of the traffic stop, Swan received another count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, two misdemeanors for drug possession, one misdemeanor for unlawful sale, possession, and use of a dangerous or synthetic drug, and traffic tickets.
Swan will appear in Homer Town Court on February 6.
